At this year's «Monaco Energy Boat Challenge», the Physis PEB team once again demonstrated what sustainable high-performance watersports can look like; supported by a high-voltage battery from ecovolta.
July 8, 2025 – Sustainable innovation meets racing spirit:The student team Physis PEB relied on cutting-edge technology at the «Monaco Energy Boat Challenge» – including a high-voltage battery from ecovolta.
Physis PEB – the student team from Politecnico di Milano, founded in 2021 – once again pursued a clear goal this year: to build a fully sustainable racing boat that combines top-level technology with environmental responsibility. More than 50 students from various disciplines at Politecnico di Milano worked together to further develop their «Polimi Energy Boat» – incorporating carbon fibers, alternative propulsion systems, and innovative energy solutions.
A key component on board: a 96 V / 10 kWh high-voltage battery from ecovolta, provided by one of the project’s main sponsors. From July 1 to 5, 2025, universities and companies from around the globe competed at the «Monaco Energy Boat Challenge».
In the waters of Monte Carlo, the teams showcased their sustainable boat concepts in disciplines such as the Speed Race, Slalom, Endurance Race, and the Championship category.
The Physis PEB team impressed with strong performances across all competitions – and with technical ingenuity:
- 6th place overall
- 4th place in the Speed Race
- 3rd place in the e-Sport Championship
