When no grid is available: Mobile power for high-demand applications
On a farm in Obwalden, we showed what the ecoPowerTrolley can do in practice. With an agricultural machinery dealer, we solved a common challenge: powering high-demand equipment without a fixed supply.
The initial situationWe needed a 14 m³ feed mixer to operate completely cable-free and supply feeding areas in a second barn without a hayloft. We required a solution that remains flexible, mobile, and grid-independent.
The solutionWe connected two ecoPowerTrolleys in parallel, and they reliably delivered the required energy to both drive the feed mixer and power the especially demanding mixing of cattle feed. Normally, this application demands a permanently installed 64A high-voltage connection.
The resultThe test was successful and confirmed the practical viability of the solution:
- No high-voltage connection required
- No structural or electrical installations needed
- No use of extension cables or cable reels
- Full mobility, even beyond existing barn infrastructure
- Versatile use throughout the entire year
Flexible use all year roundBecause we do not permanently install the ecoPowerTrolley, it remains highly flexible:
In summer, we use it as a mobile power source on alpine pastures and charge it with solar energy. During the rest of the year, it supports the feed mixer or other barn applications.
Wherever operations need energy but lack a grid connection, the ecoPowerTrolley offers a reliable, mobile solution for everyday agricultural activities.
